Chak,
Ik kan de performance nu even niet testen. Op beide Eee boxen staat linux.
Morgen (als ik mijn %#!&^@#%*!@ alarm goed aan het werk krijg) zet ik de 80GB HDD er weer in.
Thank you RDNZL for that link.
quote:
Next, you'll want to configure your Eee Box to boot from your USB key. Unlike the manual (and the interwebs) would like you to believe, pressing F8 at the splashtop boot screen will not allow you to choose your USB key as the boot device. Plug the key in, and enter the BIOS setup screen. Press the right arrow key to "Boot", down arrow to "Hard Disk Drives" (if you don't see this option, make sure you plug your USB key in before you power on the Eee Box), select the "1rst Drive" option and choose your USB device. Press F10 and enter. The Box should now boot the Ubuntu install ISO.

F8 does not work!!!
Doing it thr above way did the trick.
I'm now configuring TrixBox to work with my Eee.

F8 worked for me perfectly! It displayed a boot selection menu, I choose my USB key and it booted right away... have no idea why it works for me and not for others...

Maybe something for you.
http://howto.wired.com/wiki/Run_Mac_OS_X_on_an_Eee_PC
It's for an Eee PC, but I'm sure this will also work on a Eee Box.

OS X need to be run on a real MAC..:) The patched versions of OS X will run on every PC.
Begin next year I'm going to buy a new Imac 24" when the led version + quad core is available.

EEE Box is a great device for HS.
My main reason for this device is power consumption.

Maybe we can start a new topic about power consumption of the HS PC's

I know Lennart's Homeseer laptop is using about 14 watt in Idle..this was the lowest I ever have seen for HS

My EEE Box with SSD drive and 2 gb memory:

Chak.
I think that you can even get this lower if you remove the wireless card.

I've now got both Eee's nicely build in to the "meter kast" next to my new alarm.
Soon I'll post some pictures, and you guys will be so proud of me :-)

your "Meter kast" ..lol

I have disabled the wireless card. Power consumption did not change in idle mode.
I did use the Wifi connection first few days
System was not responding okay all the time...and also some drops in connection..
My desk light was sometimes turning of because of lost connections..

Desk light will auto turn on when it's dark and my Imac is online..

Chak,

Do you have an audio in on the box? (I'm talking software side here)
When I access the microphone option it's grayed out!
I want to use it for the speech recognition in HS.
Could you please test the following.
Start > Configutaiescherm > Spraak > Audio invoer
(I get an error when accessing "Spraak"

Also.. in Start > Configuratiescherm > Geluid en audioapparaten > Spraak.
Could you please let me know what your Spraak opnemen "standaardapparaat" is.
