Siren and Smoke Detector (flex-control)

Post by PSL74 »

I use Homeseer HSPRO 2.4.0.25
I bought Siren SE812-1 and Smoke detector SF812-1 (http://www.flex-control.dk).

The instruction says that The Siren and Smoke Detector supports Command Classes including:

*COMMAND_CLASS_ASSOCIATION V2
*COMMAND_CLASS_BATTERY
*COMMAND_CLASS_BASIC
*COMMAND_CLASS_VERSION
*COMMAND_CLASS_MANUFACTURER-SPECIFIC
*COMMAND_CLASS_SENSOR_ALARM (Smoke detector)
*COMMAND_CLASS_SWITCH_BINARY (Siren)

This is what came up in the logs when I imported devices:

SE812-1 (flex-control)

Code: Select all

27.06.2010 22:09:19 - Z-Wave - ********** Adding Z-Wave Device with Node ID of 8 Type GENERIC_TYPE_SWITCH_BINARY=10H **********

27.06.2010 22:17:38 - Z-Wave - ********** Done with Z-Wave Device with Node ID of 9 **********
The problem is that I can not send a command to activate the Siren, and when clicked on tamper switch Siren begins to sound, but in the logs appears:

Code: Select all

Warning - In Set Level for device Z-Wave Z-Wave Interface Root Device 8 which does not match command type Alarm, and its actual device could not be located - cannot continue.
When the smoke detector is triggered, HomeSeer does not respond.
What I did wrong?
Thanks in advance

Hi,

Personally I disabled the tamper alarm because I almost lost my hearing ;)
No issues with the siren besides that - You could try and disable it as well (one of the jumper settings I believe) just on the of chance that this does the job.

Also for the smoke alarm - it looks like you haven't scanned it properly - try doing a rescan just on the device (while pressing the little button on the inside) to see if you get all the devices - it should have a battery, root device and sensor.
-- Sorry I didn't look properly - you do have all the devices - what works for me is press the alarm test button so it updates homeseer (cover your ears though ;) ) but doing a rescan and a few optimises would prolly not hurt either.

cheers,

HI, Elco

After upgrading HomeSeer to 2.4.0.56 in the logs appears supporting COMMAND_CLASS_ASOCIATION_V2, I managed to get to work Smoke Detector, by pressing link key and while it stay awake add homeseer in asociation. Thanks

But with the siren all the same thing, I still cannot activate the siren, turning the switch binary to ON.
Can you write in more detail what Siren do you have and how to make it work?
I am trying to configure it for almost a week.

Thank you!

I have the same siren you have (the only z-wave siren that is avaiable in europe afaik)

When I set it up I just added the device using the Aeon stick, then I closed the thing up, tried optimising, found out that the listening period was short so I had to open it up again t opress the button so it would listen - then when I opened it the tamper alarm went off rendering me almost deaf in the process, so I took the jumper out. Then I just scanned again to get all information and optimized untill it had enough neighbors - also it is one of the rare battery operated devices I've found that can be awakened from homeseer, i.e. it's a listener so it should resond to your signals een without pressing the button (though it may take a minute or so)

It's functioned fine really, not sure what else to suggest - though you could try removing and re-ading the device from your z-wave controller (and ofcourse from homeseer)

Hope that helps
Elco
